Baki the Grappler (or Grappler Baki) is a manga that follows the story of Baki Hanma. Beneath the Tokyo Dome is an underground fighting arena called Kourakuen, where warriors show off their skills in various martial arts like kenpo and boxing. The only rules are no weapons and no rewards—fighters compete for honor and to make a name for themselves. Teenager Baki Hanma wants to join Kourakuen’s toughest fighters. Baki is the son of Yuujirou Hanma, a feared man known as the “Ogre.” Yuujirou’s brutal behavior has traumatized Baki, driving him to become as strong as possible.
